DeSantis Spars With Biden Administration Over COVID Vaccines For Kids

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has clashed with Joe Biden’s White House on numerous occasions.

DeSantis and the Biden administration remain at odds on virtually every single issue. Some have even said the White House seems threatened by DeSantis, his success in Florida, and his growing popularity as a political leader.

The latest issue between the Florida governor and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is the issue of COVID vaccines for kids and babies. The Biden administration insists that Florida ought to order vaccine batches for kids from the federal government.

DeSantis, on the other hand, has a different view and isn’t backing down, as documented by The Hill.

DeSantis on the White House and COVID Vaccines For Kids

The Biden administration has made available for preorder millions of COVID vaccines for kids. These shots aren’t even fully approved by federal officials; however, the White House is banking on them eventually getting the green light of approval.

However, Florida has declined to order any batches of these shots. DeSantis says it’s because kids have virtually no risk of coming down with serious infections from the virus. This has been backed up by science, as well.

During a Thursday press conference, the Florida governor explained that hospitals and doctors are well within their rights to get COVID shots for kids. Yet, it’s just not something the Florida state government is going to be a part of.

The White House doesn’t like this, though. It’s therefore been lashing out at DeSantis, accusing the governor of not caring about kids and more.

Larger Debates Over COVID Vaccines For Kids

Recently, White House COVID adviser Anthony Fauci came out and said kids should get COVID booster shots. This is the position of the federal government, as well.

Yet, there’s no concrete science to back this up. There is no data whatsoever to show that kids who take booster shots will be protected from serious COVID illnesses or deaths.

Fauci himself admitted as much when he was grilled at a Senate hearing by Sen. Rand Paul. Due to the lack of scientific evidence showing that boosters protect kids, more people are asking why some federal officials are so hellbent on pushing these shots on kids.

From the jump, the federal government’s response to COVID, its pushes to mandate COVID vaccines on people who don’t want them, and mixed messages on virus mitigation strategies have sent off alarm bells.

The latest spat between DeSantis and the White House shows tensions over COVID and responses to the virus are far from over.
