Instagram Hits Donald Trump Jr. With New Censorship

For years upon years, conservatives have been on the receiving end of censorship from Big Tech.

Of course, Big Tech has publicly rejected this; yet, leaked video footage from these companies, along with discrepancies in treatment between conservative media users and their left-wing counterparts, tells a different story.

Big Tech truly came out in full force after the events on January 6, 2021. Multiple companies immediately banned former President Trump from using platforms like Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Now, Donald Trump Jr., the son of the former president, is being directly censored by Instagram, according to Breitbart News.

Instagram vs. Donald Trump Jr.

Trump communications director Taylor Budowich is the one who drew attention to the censorship being imposed by Instagram.

Budowich mentioned that when he attempted to tag the former first son in an Instagram post, the site sent him a notification about trying to tag Trump Jr. and advised him not to do so.

The notification specifically mentioned that the account of the former first son is repeatedly posting “false information” and breaching the company’s “community guidelines.” Finally, the message asked Budowich if he was certain about wanting to tag Trump Jr.

Budowich wasn’t pleased about this, noting that Instagram was showing a double standard in its treatment of Trump as a conservative.

The Trump communications director mentioned that if Rep. Adam Schiff were tagged in an Instagram post, the site wouldn’t send out notifications advising against tagging him.

That’s in spite of Schiff repeatedly telling various lies on and off different social media platforms.

Biased Fact-checkers on Social Media

Social media has become infamous for various fact-checkers that don’t treat everyone equally.

During the 2020 presidential election, fact-checkers repeatedly ran interference for Biden. When COVID emerged, fact-checkers also shut down claims that vaccines don’t stop the virus from spreading.

The reality that COVID vaccines don’t prevent anyone from coming down with the virus or passing it on to others was later proven to be factual. Even the CDC eventually acknowledged that COVID vaccines aren’t able to avert or contain the virus.

Until fact-checkers on social media get rid of their political agendas and truly focus on the facts, they won’t be trusted by the general public.

Over the years, Big Tech has managed to shoot itself in the leg over and over again; at this point, there’s no telling when (or if) it’ll ever be able to bounce back.

In the meantime, more Americans are turning to alternative social media sites, like Gab, Telegram, Rumble, and Parler.
