Cassidy Hutchinson’s evidence on former President Trump took a serious knock on Tuesday.
This was when former Trump White House attorney Eric Herschmann asserted he was the author of the written memo Hutchinson claimed to have submitted to the House Select Committee on January 6.
The Story Doesn’t Add Up
“Anyone who enters the Capitol without appropriate authorization should immediately leave,” Hutchinson alleges she wrote in the memo.
Herschmann is asserting he wrote a written letter on a possible remark for then-President Trump to make during the assault on the Capitol on January 6, according to ABC News.
At the committee meeting on Tuesday, January 6, Rep. Liz Cheney exhibited a written letter that Hutchinson stated she composed after Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, gave her a memo pad and a pen to capture his notes.
Herschmann is claiming he authored the message, not Hutchinson, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, who verified this to The Daily Wire.
Eric Herschmann wrote the handwritten message on January 6, 2021, per a statement sent to ABC News by Eric Herschmann.
Police forces and all authorities with direct knowledge have confirmed it was authored by Mr. Herschmann and will do so again.

Herschmann, a well-known lawyer, stepped out of what was essentially retirement to defend Trump against individuals who were offering him terrible counsel.
When news broke that Secret Service will likely refute Hutchinson’s startling charges, it severely damaged the credibility of those during Hutchinson’s testimony on Tuesday evening.
Hutchinson stated on the day of the event on January 6, Trump requested the Secret Service transport him to the U.S. Capitol building and grew upset when they refused because the location was not safe.
According to Hutchinson, Bobby Engel, the head of the security team, had to instruct Trump to remove his hand from the steering wheel when he attempted to seize control of the fortified presidential vehicle.
After that, according to Hutchinson, Trump allegedly rushed towards and hit the agent.

Hutchinson asserts she received this data from Anthony Ornato, a top Secret Service agent who worked as the White House’s deputy head of operations when detailed there.

According to a Secret Service insider familiar with the situation, Tony Ornato “denies informing Cassidy Hutchinson that the past president seized the steering wheel or an officer on his entourage,” as reported by CNN’s Shimon Prokupecz.
According to ABC News executive editorial director John Santucci, the Secret Service is anticipated to publicly refute Hutchinson’s allegations.
A person familiar with the Secret Service has also weighed in on this turn of events. This person says the security detail will fight back against any claims an agent was assaulted or that Trump reached for the wheel, Santucci added.
