Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin Weighs in on Abortion Debate

0

Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin is a liberal man. That’s why Joe Biden selected him as our Secretary of Defense.

He responded to the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) overturning of Roe v. Wade recently by saying the US military will not comply with any state restrictions on abortion access.

Austin is also an investor and board member of Tenet Healthcare, which provides abortion services. His statements constitute a direct conflict of interest.

It is also unclear how Austin intends to supersede the law of the land.

Austin Vows Continued Abortion Access for All US Military

Austin said “seamless” on-demand abortion access will still be given to members of the US military, despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

The SCOTUS decision turning abortion back to the states is expected to lead to full or strict abortion bans in around half of the United States.

Austin said the “wellbeing of families” is of top importance to him at the Department of Defense, which is why he’ll ensure abortion access continues to be available.

Many of us were under the impression that having the military ready to defend and protect the homeland and American interests abroad was actually the most important job of the Pentagon.

Yet, we all stand corrected, Mr. Secretary.

Austin is Promising to Break the Law

The overturning of Roe puts abortion back to a state decision, but Austin’s idea of using the military to still get people their pregnancy terminations is illegal.

It’s illegal because of the Hyde Amendment, which bars any federal money from being used to provide health benefits, including abortion.

This rules out the military funding abortions for military members, even if they built clinics on US military bases. The only exception would be rape, incest, or life of the mother, exceptions which are already likely to exist in many states that ban most abortions.

Biden wants Hyde gone, but to do that, he needs the Senate and House on board; that’s very unlikely to get the majority needed at this point.

Austin is talking hot air and virtue signaling for the Democrat Party and blue-haired Antifa leftists when he should be busy running our military.

This, in addition to his conflict of interest, are all reasons that the calls for his impeachment are now growing. This guy is no longer fit to serve as head of the DoD, nor was he ever truly fit to do so, considering his biases and dismissal of the US Constitution.

The Bottom Line

Instead of Lloyd Austin talking about the priority of providing abortions to people in the military, why doesn’t he get busy trimming down the waste in the military-industrial complex (MIC)?

Why doesn’t he start getting serious about counteracting the threat of China?
